Weddings
Wanting to get married at St Paul’s, Ruislip Manor?
If you are thinking of getting married at St Paul’s, we would be delighted to talk to you.
A church wedding is very special and it adds a spiritual dimension to your marriage, asking for God’s blessing on your marriage and our future life together.
You will find a warm welcome at St. Paul's if you wish to be married here, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you regularly go to church.
The rules for marrying in church have changed in recent years and now you do not have to actually live in the Parish but you will need to demonstrate that you have a connection to St. Paul’s as set out below:
You can marry in a Church
of England church if you live in the parish or are on the electoral roll of the
church OR if you can show:-
That one of you:
- has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or
- was baptised in the parish concerned or
- was prepared for confirmation in the parish or
- has at any time regularly gone to normal
church services in the parish church for a period
of at least 6 months or - That one of your parents, at any time after you were born: has lived in the parish for a period of 6 months or
- has regularly gone to normal church services
in the parish church for a period of at least
6 months or - That one of your parents or grandparents was married in the parish church
Please get in touch and we can discuss this in more detail.
If one or both of you has been divorced then we will want to discuss with you how the previous marriage went wrong and the needs and concerns of any children from a previous marriage or relationship
For such a special day, we offer a commitment to do all we can to ensure your wedding service is meaningful and joyful. We will help you to prepare for your marriage spiritually and emotionally as well as helping to work out the logistics of your day.
We will
plan every aspect of your service with you and help you to choose the readings,
hymns and music, so that your service is very personal to you.
There is an excellent resource available online from the Church of England which works through every stage of a church wedding. It can be found at http://www.yourchurchwedding.org
